Ceramic cuts heat and rejects cancer-causing UV at every shade. Darker mostly changes privacy and the look. 50% fronts with 15–25% rears is what we install most.
What ceramic actually does
Why ceramic, and why not the cheap stuff.
Window film comes in three grades. Dyed film is the cheapest, blocks the least heat, and turns purple in a few years. Carbon film is a step up and holds its color. Ceramic film is the top grade: it rejects cancer-causing UV rays, blocks the most heat, doesn’t fade, and has no metal in it, so your phone, GPS, and toll tag keep working. That’s the only film on this page.
Cooler cabin
In July the steering wheel and seats get too hot to touch before you’ve left the driveway.
Ceramic IR film rejects a large share of the infrared heat before it reaches the glass, so the car cools faster and the A/C stops fighting the sun.
Blocks cancer-causing UV
UV through glass still hits your skin on every drive, and it cooks the dash and leather while you sit in it.

Less glare on I-95 and Route 1
Low morning sun and late-day sun are the two worst parts of a Delaware commute.
Ceramic film takes the edge off the glare without making the car dark, even at 50% or 70%.

Drop off and go
Drop the car off. Most jobs take two to four hours — sedans and coupes on the short end, three-row SUVs on the long end. We’ll text when it’s ready for pickup.

The install
Old tint comes off if there’s any. Glass gets cleaned to a standard most people have never seen on their own car. Film is cut to your vehicle’s pattern, shrunk to the curve of the glass, and installed edge to edge in a clean, enclosed shop. No dust, no light gaps, no razor marks on the door panels.

Pickup and the first week
You get a walkthrough of the finished glass and a quick rundown of aftercare. Leave the windows up for three to five days while the film cures. A little haze or a few small water pockets in that first week are normal and clear on their own.

Before you book
Questions people ask.
How dark should I go?
For most drivers, 50% fronts and 15% to 25% rears. It looks intentional from outside and it’s still easy to see out of at night. If you want more privacy in the back, 5% rears are common on SUVs.
Does ceramic tint block UV rays?
Yes. CovrGard ceramic rejects over 99% of cancer-causing UV rays. That protects your skin in the car and keeps the dash and leather from baking.
How long does it take?
Two to four hours for most vehicles. Drop the car off — we’ll give you a pickup window when you book.
Will ceramic mess with my phone, GPS, or toll tag?
No. Ceramic film has no metal in it, so there’s nothing to interfere with signals. That’s one of the reasons it costs more than metalized film.
When can I roll the windows down?
Leave them up for three to five days after the install while the film cures to the glass.
My windows look hazy or have little bubbles a day later. Is that normal?
Yes. That’s moisture between the film and the glass working its way out. It clears on its own within a week or two, faster in warm weather.
Can you remove old or purple tint first?
Yes. Removal is billed by the hour and requires a visit so we can see the adhesive. We’ll quote it once the car is here.
My SUV already has dark factory glass in the back. Do I need to tint it?
Factory privacy glass is just dyed in the glass and blocks very little heat. We can add clear 70% ceramic film on top of the rear glass for UV and IR rejection without making it darker. Most SUV owners also do the fronts to match.
What’s the warranty?
We’ll send coverage terms with your appointment times — bubbling, peeling, fading, and color change. Ask when you book if you want those terms in writing before drop-off.
Do you do PPF, wraps, or windshield protection?
We do, and it’s the same shop and the same standard. This page is just for window tint. Ask when you’re in and we’ll walk you through it on your car.
